Terms & Conditions

1. Agreement

These terms and conditions govern the provision of painting, decorating, and related services by Shreeve & Son's Decorating Contractors ("we", "us", "our") to you ("the client"). By accepting a quotation or instructing us to commence work, you agree to these terms.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the scope of work discussed during the site visit. Any additional work requested after acceptance will be quoted separately.

3. Payment

For projects under £1,000, full payment is due upon completion. For projects over £1,000, a 30% deposit is required before work commences, with the balance due upon completion. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, cheque, or cash.

4. Workmanship Guarantee

All work is guaranteed against defects in workmanship for a period specified in your quotation (minimum 12 months). This guarantee covers peeling, cracking, or flaking caused by our workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by third parties, structural movement, damp, or wear and tear.

5. Access & Preparation

The client agrees to provide reasonable access to the work areas during agreed working hours. We will protect furniture, floors, and fixtures using dust sheets and masking. Any items that cannot be moved will be covered in situ.

6. Materials

Unless otherwise agreed, we supply all materials. We use premium trade-grade paints (Dulux Trade, Farrow & Ball, or equivalent) as standard. If the client supplies materials, we accept no responsibility for the quality or coverage of those products.

7. Cancellation

Either party may cancel the agreement by providing 48 hours' written notice before the scheduled start date. If the client cancels after work has commenced, payment is due for all completed work and materials purchased.

8. Insurance

We maintain full public liability insurance (£5 million) and employer's liability insurance. Certificates are available upon request.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
